I Absolutely Refuse

Andrea was the victim of femicide in La Paz, Bolivia, leaving her family trapped in a silence that endured for years. Following her death, the women of the household—mother, daughters, grandmothers, and aunts—decide to speak. In that act of collective courage, long-hidden wounds are reopened, but the possibility of healing also begins to emerge.

Through poetic imagery and delicate animation that gives form to the invisible, I Absolutely Refuse explores feminine memory, inherited trauma, and the enduring consequences of gender-based violence. More than a film about grief, it is a portrait of women reclaiming their voices, refusing silence, and transforming love into an act of resistance.
